What Is Lip Lift Surgery Recovery Like?
Immediately after surgery, the upper lip is very swollen and patients will likely experience some soreness in the treatment area. It is very common to feel tightness and numbness in the top lip. You will need a responsible driver to pick you up from surgery and get you safely home.

Some lip lift recovery guidelines include:
- Sutures are removed in 5 days
- The lips will be very swollen for the first few days after surgery and remain swollen for a few weeks in total.
- Most patients can return to work after one week
Lip lift recovery is not terribly difficult, especially if you follow all of Dr. Sina’s postoperative instructions. Be sure to take all of your medications as prescribed, rest, ice, avoid strenuous activities/heavy lifting and get as much rest as possible.
When Will I See My Lip Lift Results?
The immediate postoperative changes to the lips and mouth are not indicative of the final results of surgery due to significant swelling. In general, lots of the swelling subsides over the first couple of weeks and as the bruising and swelling dissipate you will begin to see the results of your lip lift.
